Well, I thought it might be time for me to jump in on all the fun. BTW, who knew Ash was such a great blogger! The way she tells the story and the ease with which she melds the medical details, with some humor, and overall life details is truly amazing to me and brings me to the point of this post (just to not let anyone down, I am not even close to the same level).
Ashley is first my wife, but she is so much more to me: best friend, partner in crime, my rock, my support system and the love of my life (the list could go on-and-on). Over the last 20 years, she has constantly amazed me, and I could not imagine Ash not in my life. Like many husbands, I know I need to do a better job of vocalizing these thoughts more frequently and it will be a new goal. One thing I do know, I could not go through this journey without her by my side.
Ever since this Journey started 28 days ago (can you believe it) Ash, first and foremost rallied the troops/support system, which we all know she can do like no one else. She has spent most of those nights and some days, contacting people within our network to discuss my treatment plans etc., and doing an enormous amount of research on my diagnosis. She goes through medical journals and compares those to my results. Her comprehension of my diagnosis truly amazes me. Sometimes, she will be discussing things with our Doctor or PA and it goes right over my head. Then I must wait for them to leave so She can better explain it to me. She has gotten so good that our Doctor approached her last week to ask if she had a science background because her grasp of all the complex concepts was so good. Of course, I beamed with so much pride in my wife. She has built quite a reputation within our Doctors practice, that these days all rounds are finished with “Ashley, do you have any questions?”
Ash, I love you and could not ever imagine going through any of this without you by my side. I pray that I never have to return the favor, but if I do, you know I will do the same for you.
Ok, onto a quick update. Friday night was the final night of all 3 chemo’s. So, no more being awakened every 1-2 hours to be poked and prodded and now we can get some better sleep. I still have 17 nights of chemo pills, but those are much easier.
Lastly, I want to send out a BIG THANK YOU and BIG HUG for all the great support. You have no idea how much it means to me and helps me in this Journey.

Thinking about yall hope your doing well and hope you manage to have a good christmas eventhough tit will be hard as you won't get to see me!!!:)
We realized that most of the stuff we've been sending down from here at CraftMark wasn't going to make the cut nutritionally, so I challenged our team to come up with some treats that Craig would like and were dairy-free, low sodium, low in added sugar, and high in protein, and as organic as possible. One of our Directors, Sheila, found a recipe called "Aussie Bites" and she and her tech, Tim, made a few adaptations. After a few rounds, I said.."This is it!" Unfortunately we weren't able to do a nutritional workup on them before folks headed on vacation today, but I think the ingredient list may be ok: rolled oats, dried peaches, raisins, ground flaxseed, sunflower, dried coco…
Just wanted to say sup! Hope you are doing well , we are thinking bout you. Big love to you both. Also, since A won't update me, so C i need you to keep me informed about the hot chicks....I mean nurses.
Love everything about this. Well said.
Darling Dallas Son,
What a wonderful tribute to Ashley! You are so right in acknowledging that she is a very gifted writer and more importantly a very loving loyal wife , friend and uncompromising warrior for your healing and well being. Love you both very much, MJ
